Margie Thompson

Margie Thompson

is an independent journalist and photographer with ESCRIBANA, with more than 30 years of experience in communication. Prior to ESCRIBANA, she worked for 15 years with FIRE – Feminist International Radio Endeavour (Radio Internacional Feminista). She is an associate professor of international & intercultural communication and feminist media studies at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado.

María Suarez Toro

María Suarez Toro

is founder, producer, and consultant with ESCRIBANA. A Puerto- Rican/Costa Rican, she is a feminist activist with various professions: journalist, social communicator, writer, teacher and university professor. Her books include: The Rebellion of the Chairs (2011); Images of Haiti that Rise Up 2010); My Own Metamorphosis (2009); and Women, Meta- morphosis of the Butterfly Effect (2008).
